First hot day!

It was the first hot day of the year today. The weather report said it would be in the low 90's around 3pm. Yikes. That is hot! I decided today would be a good day to pull out an octupus sprinkler that Camryn got for her birthday. I blew it up while she was napping and got it hooked up. I turned on the water and realized that our hose had lots of holes and water was spraying out. I pulled out the duck tape and tried to cover up the holes but it still sprays out. Camryn woke up from her nap and ate lunch. Then i got her in her new bathing suit, which she didn't want to wear. She got excited as soon as she saw the purple octupus. Before i knew it, she was soaked. lol She had so much fun. At one point, all she did was run over to the leak in the hose instead of the sprinkler. It sprayed about as much as the sprinkler did.

Ball Ball Ball

I woke up this morning to a someone yelling Ball Ball Ball. Yes that was Camryn. She has a new favorite toy. It's a purple ball with Scooby Doo on it that my mom gave her. She played with it all day Sunday and a good part of Monday. When we drove home from my mom's house on Sunday, she held onto the ball the whole ride home. This morning she woke up and saw the ball in her room. She has also started to call her binky Ball. So I wasn't sure if she meant the real ball or her binky. It's very cute but also very confusing. She will be a good soccer player when she is older. She is very good at kicking the ball.

Camryn's hair is getting long

It used to be that I could only put Camryn's hair in a half ponytail. But today I was able to put all her hair in pigtails. It looks very cute. Luckily she was nice and patient today and sat still the whole time. Pigtails take a bit longer than just one ponytail. She usually can't sit still very long. I guess she was very distracted by Spongebob Squarepants. lol

Camryn is so smart

Everyday Camryn impresses me. Last night we were playing in her room. She has a bunch of blocks that have letters, numbers, and pictures on them. She pointed to a picture of a duck and said quack. Then, she pointed to a number 2 and said two. She is very close to saying nose and eye. She will poke you in the eye while she's saying it. Seems like she learns something new everyday.

New couches

We got a new couch and loveseat today. They look great! My old ones were ancient. I got them from my parents when I moved out. I was very appreciative because I didn't have anything but they were old. My mom drove past an old neighbors house on Saturday and saw they were selling their couches. I have been in their house many times and knew exactly what couches they were selling. I knew they had them for a long time but were in great condition. One thing I really like is that they match.

Scarlet Fever

I know exactly what you're going to say, "What is scarlet fever and how did you get it." I thought the exact same thing when I went to see the doctor. Lets start at the beginning. It was tuesday April 1st. I woke up energized and ready to work out. I got my daughter up and gave her breakfast. I talked to my sister Kim online. It was her birthday. Then, I strapped Camryn in the jogging stroller and we were off. About 2 hours later we went for another jog. After two jogs, I was exhausted and sweaty. I definitely needed a shower. That's when I saw it. I had a rash that went from my neck to my thighs. It was hideous. I knew exactly where it came from. A couple days earlier I had used a new body scrub. I just assumed that's what it was from. I was hoping it would just go away in a couple days. 2 days later I noticed that it spread. Now it was also on my back. The weird thing was I didn't use the body scrub on my back. I decided to call the doctor and have it checked out. Luckily, they had an opening that morning. About an hour later, I walked out of the doctor's office. I called my mother in law and told her I have Scarlet Fever. I can't believe it. I stumped her. She knows everything but this she had to look up. Yikes! I did the same thing when I got home. I had no idea that Scarlet Fever is a bacteria caused by strep infections. First you get a sore throat, fever, then 24 hrs later you get the rash. Luckily, I never got the sore throat or fever. I just got the rash. Now I am on antibiotics for 10 days. They are making me very tired. I have 5 more days to go. The only thing I haven't figured out is how I got it. That's still a mystery.

Better late than never

I had never thought to blog before, until my two sisters started doing it. For those who don't know, my name is Amy. I am married to Levi and we have a 18 month old Camryn. I am a stay at home mom. I love spending everyday with my daughter while Levi works his butt off at Kimberly-Clark. He works 4 12hr days. It's definitely a nice change. 3 months ago I was the one working my butt off while Levi stayed home with Camryn. I used to work at WorldMark by Wyndham. Almost everyday in Jan I worked 14 hr days 5 days a week. It was tough. We love Camryn so much that we can't wait to add another person to our family. We're hoping by summer next year she'll have a baby brother or sister. Levi is praying for a boy. I wouldn't mind a girl since we have all of Camryn's old clothes. Bags and bags of clothes. Plus growing up with two sisters was great. I want Camryn to have someone she can talk to if she doesn't want to come to me. Although, of course I hope she wants to come to me. Levi wants a boy to protect her and keep guys away. We'll just have to wait and see.
