Opening Day!

It was a very exciting day. First home game of the 2011 Mariners season. My friend Cori and I had tickets. We left after i finished working and had a few issues with traffic but we got there. Took a little time to find a parking space but it worked out great. We found a place close and for a good price. It was crazy who much some places were charging. We got to our seats and sat down just in time for the opening ceremonys. They had a red carpet for the players, fireworks, and a very nice tribute to Dave Neihaus. We watched the first pitch then found something for dinner. After dinner that is when the night went downhill. No idea how it happened, but in the 4th inning the Indians got 10 runs!!! It was crazy!! I have never booed anyone before. lol A lot of people started to leave. It was pretty cold. We wanted to stay until the M's atleast got 1 run. So after some yummy hot chocolate and 1 run in the 5th inning, we decided to leave. Even though the Mariners lost 12-3, Cori and I had a lot of fun.

Poor Jordyn

This isn't exactly how i wanted to start the New Year. First Camryn got sick. She had a cough for a few weeks. Then i got sick. I've had a cough for over a week and now Jordyn is sick. I definitely think she got it the worst. She actually didn't have any symptoms until last night.

Camryn went to my mom's house for a sleepover last night. My mom was also planning to take her to dance class at 9am so it made it easier for her to sleep over. I put Jordyn to bed at her usual time and everything was fine until 11. I heard her coughing and it sounded like she was throwing up so i went in her room. She wasn't throwing up but she was hysterical and i could tell her breathing wasn't normal. I held her for a while to calm her down and even then her breathing wasn't normal. We sat on my bed to relax and she threw up. Definitely had me worried.

Erin was still awake so i asked her if i should take Jordyn to the ER. I don't want to take any chances when it comes to my children. So Erin and i took Jordyn to the ER. I was so thankful Camryn wasn't there so Erin could go with me. We checked in, they took her temperature(which was normal)and listened to her breathing. They knew it was Croup right away. I had never heard of it before.

We were put into a room and waited for the doctor. I am very thankful she has a mild case of Croup. She didn't need breathing treatments. We would have been stuck there for another 3 hrs. And i am thankful she didn't need to be admitted. They gave her some steriods orally to get the swelling down. She spent the whole time in my arms and everything was fine then she threw up from the medicine. ALL OVER ME! It was quite an experience. Since she threw up all the medicine, they had to do it again but this time with a shot.

Her blood pressure was a big high so we sat there for a while so they could monitor it. They took her temp again(horrible experience btw) and she had a little bit of a fever which explains the high blood pressure. They gave her some tylenol for the fever. After a while the doctor came back and listened to her breathing again. She was worried about one of her lungs so she requested an xray to make sure she doesn't have pneumonia. That was another horrible experience. The last thing i want is to have to hold down my child for any reason. But luckily it looked like she doesn't have pneumonia.

So after being at the ER for over 2 hrs, we were able to go home. We got cleaned up, i put a humdifier in her room and we went to bed. Luckily she slept great the rest of the night and took a good nap today. They say the nighttime is the worst because they are laying down but i opened her window so she can get some cool air.

Camryn will be going to daddy's house tomorrow because Croup is contagious for 3 days after the symptoms occur. Mommy and Jordyn will be at home taking it easy and getting better.
