Opening Day!

It was a very exciting day. First home game of the 2011 Mariners season. My friend Cori and I had tickets. We left after i finished working and had a few issues with traffic but we got there. Took a little time to find a parking space but it worked out great. We found a place close and for a good price. It was crazy who much some places were charging. We got to our seats and sat down just in time for the opening ceremonys. They had a red carpet for the players, fireworks, and a very nice tribute to Dave Neihaus. We watched the first pitch then found something for dinner. After dinner that is when the night went downhill. No idea how it happened, but in the 4th inning the Indians got 10 runs!!! It was crazy!! I have never booed anyone before. lol A lot of people started to leave. It was pretty cold. We wanted to stay until the M's atleast got 1 run. So after some yummy hot chocolate and 1 run in the 5th inning, we decided to leave. Even though the Mariners lost 12-3, Cori and I had a lot of fun.

Poor Jordyn

This isn't exactly how i wanted to start the New Year. First Camryn got sick. She had a cough for a few weeks. Then i got sick. I've had a cough for over a week and now Jordyn is sick. I definitely think she got it the worst. She actually didn't have any symptoms until last night.

Camryn went to my mom's house for a sleepover last night. My mom was also planning to take her to dance class at 9am so it made it easier for her to sleep over. I put Jordyn to bed at her usual time and everything was fine until 11. I heard her coughing and it sounded like she was throwing up so i went in her room. She wasn't throwing up but she was hysterical and i could tell her breathing wasn't normal. I held her for a while to calm her down and even then her breathing wasn't normal. We sat on my bed to relax and she threw up. Definitely had me worried.

Erin was still awake so i asked her if i should take Jordyn to the ER. I don't want to take any chances when it comes to my children. So Erin and i took Jordyn to the ER. I was so thankful Camryn wasn't there so Erin could go with me. We checked in, they took her temperature(which was normal)and listened to her breathing. They knew it was Croup right away. I had never heard of it before.

We were put into a room and waited for the doctor. I am very thankful she has a mild case of Croup. She didn't need breathing treatments. We would have been stuck there for another 3 hrs. And i am thankful she didn't need to be admitted. They gave her some steriods orally to get the swelling down. She spent the whole time in my arms and everything was fine then she threw up from the medicine. ALL OVER ME! It was quite an experience. Since she threw up all the medicine, they had to do it again but this time with a shot.

Her blood pressure was a big high so we sat there for a while so they could monitor it. They took her temp again(horrible experience btw) and she had a little bit of a fever which explains the high blood pressure. They gave her some tylenol for the fever. After a while the doctor came back and listened to her breathing again. She was worried about one of her lungs so she requested an xray to make sure she doesn't have pneumonia. That was another horrible experience. The last thing i want is to have to hold down my child for any reason. But luckily it looked like she doesn't have pneumonia.

So after being at the ER for over 2 hrs, we were able to go home. We got cleaned up, i put a humdifier in her room and we went to bed. Luckily she slept great the rest of the night and took a good nap today. They say the nighttime is the worst because they are laying down but i opened her window so she can get some cool air.

Camryn will be going to daddy's house tomorrow because Croup is contagious for 3 days after the symptoms occur. Mommy and Jordyn will be at home taking it easy and getting better.

Goodbye 2010

We only have a few days left in 2010 so i thought i would look back at the year and recap everything that has happened.

I hosted a fun baby shower for Kim in Jan 2010. We had great food, played games and chatted with friends and family.

My niece Emilia was born Feb 6th, 2010. I was so happy to be there and watch her birth, even though it was at 2:57am. lol It was very exciting to be a spectator rather than being the one giving birth.

I had a 18 day babysitting job for my friend Jaime in Feb & March 2010. The girls and i packed up and headed to Monroe. It was great for the girls to have friends to play with and i was thrilled to have a job. The girls got sick at the end of Feb. They both had ear infections and high fevers.

We celebrated my Grandpa's 90th birthday in March. We had a nice dinner with family.

Jordyn celebrated her 1st bday on April 3rd, 2010. We had a couple celebrations. One at Chuck E Cheese with Grandpa and Grandma Jones, Grandma Loeffler, and The Kummas. The next day we had a very nice party at Grandma Loeffler's house with a few friends and then daddy had a party at his house with friends and family.

My divorce was finalized on July 7th 2010. I was very happy it was over and i was ready to move on.

My brother-in-law's parents arrived from Peru July 18th 2010. It was very exciting. It was their first trip to the US and their first time seeing Emilia. They came with us to California and then had to go back home.

We took our first family vacation in 10 yrs to Disneyland Aug 2010. It was great. Everyone was able to come except my brother Kevin, who had to work. It was Camryn's first time at Disneyland and of course she loved it. We also got a chance to see and visit with my Great Grandma and Great Aunt while we were there.

I started nannying for my niece Emilia at the end of Aug. She is such a cutie pie and gets along great with my kids. I watch her 5 days a week while my sister is working.

Camryn started preschool in Sept 2010. I could not believe the day had arrived. She goes 2 days a week for 2 1/2 hrs. She loves it. She is always if she goes to school today. A little hard for mommy the first 2 weeks. Definitely took some getting used to. Camryn also started taking dance lessons. She goes once a week and had her first dance recital in Dec.

Camryn turned 4 on Sept 11th 2010. She had a wonderful party at Nana Denise's house. My baby is growing up so fast.

I turned 30 on Oct 18th 2010. Luckily it wasn't as scary as i had imagined. lol I was actually kinda excited. Definitely think my 30's will be great. Very excited to see my kids get older and become little people.

We had a wonderful holiday season. I enjoyed all the time i spent with my friends and family. The girls and i received some wonderful gifts. We are very blessed.

All in all it was a great year and i am looking forward to what 2011 will bring. :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

Camryn's first day of preschool.

Wow! The day is here. Camryn's first day of preschool. I am so excited and sad at the same time. She will be going to school 2 days a week for 2 1/2 hrs a day. She is super excited. She's been wearing her backpack all morning. lol. We went to open house last Tues. Levi was able to come so he could see her classroom and meet her teacher. It seemed like Jordyn wanted to go to school too. She was playing with the legos and sitting in the chairs. :) She has 2 yrs to go though. It will definitely be weird being at home with Jordyn and Emilia while Camryn is at school.

Another big day is coming up soon. On Saturday, Camryn turns 4!! I will definitely do another post about her bday. Tune in.

Disneyland

It was a fun filled and exhausting 5 days in California. We had a blast but we're so happy to be home. The plane ride there was pretty tough. It is pretty easy to keep a 3yr old occupied but not a 1yr old who is always moving around. But we got through it and arrived in Anaheim around 3pm on Wednesday. We went straight to the hotel to get settled in and relax. A few of us were hungry so we walked to a nearby Carl's Jr. I thought i was being smart and i ordered a salad. Later i found out that i shouldn't have done that. Later that day a few of us walked to a small store to buy some food for lunches and snacks. We unpacked and got ready for the days to come

The next morning it hit me. I felt so sick. I didn't think it was a big deal at first. I figured it would go away. I took a shower and tried to get ready. That's when i started to throw up. I ended up getting sick every 15 mins for the next 4 hrs. I was so upset. This would be our first day at Disneyland. The last thing i wanted to do was miss it. The gang decided that everyone except my mom and Jordyn would go to Disneyland and they would stay at the hotel with me. I took a few small naps and continued getting sick. My mom walked to the am/pm and got me some Pepto Bismol. I took some and fell asleep. I was so happy when i woke up that i felt a little better. I had no desire to throw up. I took another cap full and decided to start getting ready.

Jordyn took a nap and then we headed out. I was so relieved that the whole day wasn't wasted. We arrived about 2pm and caught up with everyone. Camryn had already been on several rides. Dumbo, Small World, Carousel were a few. We had a great day after that. I loved seeing how excited Camryn got when she went on a new ride. Poor Jordyn wasn't able to go on that many. I took her on the Haunted Mansion and she cried that whole time. I knew it might be scary but i still wanted her to go. Luckily my dad was with us. If we wanted to go on a ride where Jordyn and Emilia couldn't go on, he usually stayed with them. They would trade pacifiers and talk to each other. lol

The next day we went to California Adventure. It's not as big as Disneyland so we knew it wouldn't be such a long day. It was pretty hot though. They have an area called Bugs Life where they have sprinklers. Camryn loved it. She got soaked. Twice. lol California Adv has a new ride called Tower of Terror. I knew of it because they had it at Universal Studios. Kim, myself, Pedro, my dad, and Pedro's parents were brave enough to go on it. It is supposed to be an old hotel where bad things happened. You get in an elevator and it just drops. Several times. In the dark and then they open the elevator doors and you see all of the park. It was pretty scary. I was screaming my head off but it was fun too. I was glad i went on it.

The next day was back at Disneyland. There were a lot of rides we hadn't been on yet. I think we got through most of them. It can be hard with all the long lines. It's nice that they have Fast Passes. You can go get a fast pass for a certain ride and it gives you a time frame to come back and you can move ahead of the line. We got them for Indiana Jones, it always had a 70 mins wait, Splash Mountain and, Rollercoaster at Cali Adv. My mom and I were at Dland late one night. We had 5 fast passes for Splash mountain, everyone else went back to the hotel, so we went on it twice in a row. Both times i was in the very front and my mom was behind me. Omg! I got soaked. After both times there was no part of my clothing that was dry. It was a blast though. Luckily i didn't get sick because it was 10:00 at night.

Gotta love Disneyland. I want to go again in 5 yrs. :)

5 days until California!!

It's almost time. Only 5 more days until we leave for California. Wahooo!!!!! I was at the store and i found this Mickey suncatcher that you can paint and i thought that would be fun for Camryn especially with our trip coming up. It might get her even more excited than she already is. lol She had a fun time painting it.

Haircut time

I have a thing about long hair. I like it on myself and I like it on Camryn. But it was time for Camryn to get a haircut. She had mentioned a couple times that she wants one and other people have mentioned it too. lol I have to admit it would be so much easier to take care of if it was shorter. So I agreed. I took Camryn to Brat Pack, a kid salon in Redmond, yesterday. Everyday leading up to yesterday, Camryn has said she wants a haircut but yesterday she said she didn't want one. Well now it's too late. I had already made an appt and that place is busy. She wasn't in a good mood but that wasn't surprising. She seems to like it now that it's done. Not sure how many inches we cut off but now it's at her shoulders. A nice summer cut.

Here is a before picture.

Not a happy camper.

Here is an after picture.
